What Did Jackie Wilson Say? There's no use running when there's nothing left to fear Seems like something may be about to happen here I've got my black tourmaline and I've done no wrong I'm rolling on like a song that ain't about to go on too long I've got my '60's headphones on and you can't bring me down I ain't joining this circus I'm on the way uptown There's a smile in the songs before the world ate itself I wanna go back there dig a party up from this hell (Chorus) Listen back, what did Jackie Wilson say? I wonder what Jackie would have to say today? Sad so many don't understand what I'm saying Six tom fill pops a funk brothers groove outta James Now the too cool cats flyin on all their colorful fixes Trying to rock like Chuck but there's just no heart in the mixes (Chorus) When there's nowhere to go, you can always call it home You can stand out on the highway 'til your new road comes along. (Chorus)

Not Digging Any Graves These Days I'm digging a brand new babe Not necessarily the home we've made I tell them all to dig your own grave I'm not digging any graves these days Grateful for the sunshine streak There's the blue in every eye I meet I tell them all you gotta dig your own grave I'm not digging any graves these days Wishing wells are running dry You can fill them with a tear from your eye So quick to spot a new goodbye Not digging any graves these days Grateful for the sunshine streak There's the blue in every eye I meet I tell them dance in the Monterey rain I'm not digging any graves these days.

One Man Band 03:15
One Man Band Everybody else is happy in their old time bands Here I been jaded sitting on my hands Getting older and balder til there's no use to try Missing the beat 'til I sink and die The fish in my tank will start a band before me Come on now people won't you set me free? (Chorus) Come on! Well I don't like to hire because it costs too much Chances are the songs will lose the personal touch Old man like me can't make it cool in the scene Even though if only they'd known where I've been Tired of always hearing I'm a one man show It takes three to get ready and a go cat go (Chorus) (Bridge) Get someone on the upright someone on the fiddle someone on the drum to keep it straight down the middle someone on the steel and someone on the strings someone on the side who can play anything Everybody else is happy in their old time bands Here I been jaded sitting on my hands Getting older and balder til there's no use to try Missing the beat 'til I sink and die The fish in my tank will start a band before me Come on now people won't you set me free? (Chorus) Sure beats sitting here playing all alone Life is on pause I'm a rolling stone (Chorus) Everybody else is happy in their old time bands Here I'm alone sitting on my hands (Chorus) It takes three to get ready and go cat go Tired of always hearing I'm a one man show (Chorus) Sure beats sitting here playing all alone Life is on pause I'm a rolling stone (Chorus)

Man On The Street Let me tell you a story about a man on the street he didn't feel sorry because his clothes weren't clean He never talked to strangers and kept his eyes on the ground he was aware of any danger and he kept what he found (Chorus) When the sun didn't shine he was in his room When he seemed out of place he played a tune and when the man felt down he played the blues oh yeah. Well he got what he wanted and he wondered what he got when the food was rotten he made sure he threw it out when he bought something he said "keep the change" and he worked for nothing or low wage (Chorus) When he saw a thief who was committing a sin he brought 'em to the police and the reward was his he wasn't no old cheat but he sure was mean he was a man on the street and his clothes weren't clean gleamin clean gleamin clean (Chorus)
5.
Mr. Brown 02:42
Mr. Brown There's a stranger on your street and he ain't complete to your eye so you knock him down He's got a way to help you maybe baby you don't care you just want him gone (Chorus) Mr. Brown, he is my friend he's kinder than you and he won't build fences learn his song know his story. Everybody's the same but some have brains and others care for themselves Others play comparison games and make up names and never knock themselves (Chorus) (Chorus) There's a stranger on your street and he ain't complete to your eye so you knock him down He's got a way to help you maybe baby you don't care you just want him gone (Chorus)
6.
Nice People 02:46
Nice People I remember when I was down and out told myself there was no way out yesterday I saw my broken body curse turn away from the mirror and you know what's worse? people stalking in disguise pushing me around trying me out for size but what saved me was when I found out there was always nice people (Chorus) Oh, Nice people! They take you by and by There ain't no good news like nice people they take you for everything but a ride Hooked up with a girl whose family was kind Gave me work and money and a sense of style Got a job driving her old man's bus ever since then I been happy Never had so much to sing about Me and Audrey kept that spirit up Nothing makes me want to give this up What a life with nice people! (Chorus)
7.
Turn Around (Circles of Zerbin) If she comes back to hurt me again I'll turn around she'll turn around I'll turn around She don't give at all like he takes I'll turn around she'll turn around I'll turn around I'm playing the stranger to her face I'll turn around she'll turn around I'll turn around Life just ain't going away I'll turn around she'll turn around I'll turn around I'm enjoying my life all alone now I'll turn around she'll turn around I'll turn around no hindsight to tell me I'm wrong I'll turn around she'll turn around I'll turn around out rolling joints with the boys I'll turn around she'll turn around I'll turn around just something I do to enjoy I'll turn around she'll turn around I'll turn around

Song For Her World I'm feeling let down by all that matters to me the tricks are in the books to read It's up to me to fiddle around Find the chapter just to see if I can take this journey she says the fear is in my eyes but it's never in my soul (Chorus) Soul Soul in my soul oooh Oh oh in my soul oooh It's only up to her now Take the debt learn from mistakes spinning wheels don't spin forever quite the same way she'll go alone and find a friend who'll blow their money on her cure I will serenade the silence with the song for her world (Chorus) World World For her world oh yeah (Bridge) Crime is when you trade your passion for a lonely disguise you must be real to be never fooled by the urges inside ooh I'm feeling let down but that don't matter to me the desolation disappears it's all the better for her world I'm feeling let down but that don't matter to me the desolation disappears it's all the better for her world (Chorus) World World For her world oooh World World for her world ooooh world world for her world ooooh
9.
The Past Lovers She wonders how he's doing what he's up to and where he's been She don't want to know his new lovers because the sandman ain't taken her in She knows him more than he knows himself what his heart is running on (Chorus) Sunday shadows moonlight flowers always carry him home alone he worships pictures past and wonders where the future goes where the future goes He's been on his own so long his pain is evident to me Comfort is the trick he plays the part can't make a scene She's so pretty full of flowers tears still fall like rain (Chorus)
10.
In Your Dream I know you've been asking how I feel in your dream In your dream I can't see I can't cry how can I feel? Seems to be a question not even worth the asking And I travel further without a dream Goodbye Goodbye Sweet child Goodbye Goodbye Goodbye
11.
Bad Man's World I don't want to be a good guy anymore I want to live by my own rules Because the good guys they play hard I don't want that hand of cards for the world Good man's world I don't want to spend my life in jail of work of love and dreams that always fail I wasn't born a millionaire and life is hard til you get there It's a jail a good man jail I don't want to go through life a thief I just want to steal from me I'd rather be blind denial can bring a smile to the world a madman's world I don't want to go through my life alone Wish I'd find some place where I can go and roam Find the gypsies of my dreams where no money can make you mean In my world Bad man's world In my world Bad man's world
12.
Sweet Suburban Sweet suburban swept away by the city life She thinks that everything ain't as bad as it seems Finds out it ain't as good as she expected Finds out too that it ain't that great to be sweet She only broke a law or two escaping poverty She also has some other mouths to feed Everything she owns is stolen property She can't accept her parents charity (Chorus) Nobody thinks it matters Nobody thinks it matters That she's missing out when she knows it's not like that. Nobody thinks it matters Nobody thinks it matters That she's missing out when she knows it's not like that. Jenny, Queen of the junkyard, loves her fake jewelry Picks up her meals three or four times a day from the back step of the nearest local restaurant maybe she will change her life someday Sweet suburban not so sweet any longer her mind is back in the days when she was younger The government is trying to deport her for her habits and her friends don't know exactly what spell she's under (Chorus)
13.
She Made Me Life A Country Song It was cold one rainy April morn When I found my love had gone She left me oh so unaware she never said so long (Chorus) Oh! She made my life a country song one to be sung alone and high It ain't what she did that was so wrong it's what happened since that time She'd already met him when she left me saying she'd seen better days with a man she claimed had strong nimble hands big eyes and a cigarette face (Chorus) She called me up with a big great laugh said Buck was a millionaire all I could hear before she hung up was a big rowdy party down there (Chorus) The taxman came to grab my car my job was still on the line I told him to bill it to rich man Buck he said, sorry Goodbye (Chorus) It's been seven hours and fifteen days since he took my love away she's made my life a country song This song is gonna end today. (Chorus)
14.
This Old World Of Make Believe I'm wondering where to go Wondering who I know Who's gonna help me through this land of make believe I'm dreaming of her touch I think I dream too much But there's nowhere in my mind I'd rather be I'm staying I'm not playing I'm just waiting No relating Nor mating so frustrating First one who comes along who wants to get it on I'll be leaving this old world of make believe I been battered down crying like a hound inside I see the long years rolling by Not much I can do to make a rendezvous I'm buried in a mountain hung on high I'm hiding and conniving and reviving surviving the depriving and contriving help me through this bind I'll gladly spare the time to be leaving this old world of make believe I'm wasting copy pasting all this chasing and erasing desperation she's been chasing so help me through this bind I'll gladly spare the time to be leaving this old world of make believe
15.
You Will Be True The days are getting longer and I wonder how you're doing Til we meet again Was a goodbye kiss I felt in the rain and words were strained and waking up alone gets lonely pretty fast gets lonely pretty fast will you be true like you say you'd do? oooh (Chorus) You will be true like you say you do You will be true like you say you do that's what I do when so few come so close to you That's what I do 'cause I'm close to you Being with you baby Is one long beautiful feeling I never search for sadness Though that's one thing I think you're stealing You know I love you because waking up alone gets lonely pretty fast lonely pretty fast will you be true like you say you'd do? oooh (Chorus) (Chorus)
16.
Torn Between Two Lovers (Chorus) Well she's torn between two lovers and those lovers are tearing themselves apart Will she wipe away my tears will she cling to my heart? In the night I'm alone and I feel my soul inside of me breathing beating out the pain When I try to get a hold of my life my grip gets loose and it all just slips away into the wind and I think it's a sin now (Chorus) (Bridge) We don't live in a perfect world you can't change and you just can't be to blame and if we lived in that perfect world I know I'd never have to stay and wait On a lonely old night and cry out why is she... (Chorus) (It's just a matter of time - it's just a matter of time - it's just a matter of time - it's just a matter of time.) My eyes are searching distant cliffs quite near the sea where heartaches never flow Whoever wants to follow me when I take this journey will love me enough to go and I won't go alone to where my future lies (Chorus) (It's just a matter of time - it's just a matter of time - it's just a matter of time - it's just a matter of time - it's just a matter of time - it's just a matter of time)
