Close To You, Baby (chorus) Wanna get close to you baby Wanna get close to you baby Wanna get close to you baby Wanna get close to you baby Wanna get close to you baby Just like any good boy could. I got up about the break of day just to see that you'd gone away don't leave again whatever you do you know I'm never gonna try nothing on you. (chorus) Never told me where you'd gone never told me you'd be gone this long all I want is some relief I'm not trying to give you no grief. (chorus)

Dance Dance Rain Rain Talking to the secretary through my disconnected heart She can't read a phone wire and she can't read my thoughts And her ocean it can't drown me water still makes me afraid I used to be so beautiful now the blood drips off my face (Chorus) And it's dance dance rain rain lost together still be still my beating heart pulled fro my chest depressed I am and torn apart The rest I say to save the day cries don't reveal quite how I feel I'm a brand new brush off story another stranger in her land Can't remember what I did so wrong was just another two month stand Reality got in the way I'm full of hope of what I say Will make her laugh make her stay say I love you to my face (Chorus)
3.
Heaven For The Taking You made a heaven for the taking I tried my best to treat you well I can feel your eyes now cold and wasted you're nothing like the old Gabrielle (chorus) I'll take you away to a place you've never been I'll take you away to a home Take away all your pain Make you stay another day then you won't ever want to be alone Sad you're leaving for the country Sad you're leaving for a cure I don't care for nobody but you Still I want to see you more. (chorus) (chorus)

High Times Rhyme People sleeping with broken hearts God at their door Begging them to tear apart all they tremble for and it's sad for some to say no one heeds the cry (Chorus) and oh still we wonder why wonder why love's so confusing and still we wonder why high times rhyme like down and ground still we wonder why Thought of her today how the life seems to be cruel ones who give the most are stuck looking like the fools and the rest are guilty because ignorance is bliss they want the most of love and love is just a kiss (Chorus) What do you tremble for, girl? someone lost like you? show me the way heading that way too we can make life true so real and full of days speak to us at night tell us what to say. (Chorus)

I've Got Nothing To Lose But The Blues I'm as down as I sound I've been drinking uptown Forgetting about my baby and the man she's around I've got heat on my feet as I run through the streets Looking for an angel somebody I can meet Now I've got nothing to lose but the blues I want to trick my mind into feeling brand new Like a shiny white car I'm a pretty dark blue I want to build me a tribe of buddies to drink me broke slap my back when I take a toke Smoke up drink up do whatever they say maybe good luck will find me someday Because now I've got nothing to lose but the blues Pick on me and you'll get a fight Laugh at me I'll spread your teeth just right Give me advice and I won't even listen Don't pull on my pants because I been pissin I'm as down as I sound I been drinking uptown Forgetting about my baby and the man she's around Love had me blind but now I can see Beer goes down better than reality Now I've got nothing to lose but the blues Now I've got nothing to lose but the blues.

Modern Day Gypsy She was a modern day gypsy but she could rock n'roll x2 she was looking for a Jesus who could save her little gypsy soul. She was a modern day gypsy but she could rock n'roll x2 she was looking for a Jesus who could save her little gypsy soul. Not everybody knew her but she was everybody's friend x2 she could get down and dirty again and again She put on a suit and got a banker job x2 now her old travellin' caravan thinks she's a big ass snob. She hasn't been rocking since she found her man x2 Mr. Wall Street Banker well he ain't got a farmer tan. She was a modern day gypsy but she could rock n'roll x2 she was looking for a Jesus who could save her little gypsy soul.

Mountain Of Love (chorus) Love, Mountain of love Love, Mountain of love You climb through the hilltops stop for a breath of air hanging for another year someday you'll be getting there you go on the back trails so the wind won't blow you down the slope and freeze you to the bone (chorus) Thrills I've had to see this through this mess that I have made of you there's changes I can't seem to get to learn this river is looking mighty grim but since I taught myself to swim you're one bridge that I can wait to burn for (chorus) things have gotten better since I've had more storms to weather I'm climbing until I can't climb no more found myself a limb to hang to and when the freezing breeze breaks through I can't seem to recall the crime this fall (chorus)

Old Flames Burn Bright I'm starting to wonder if that poor lassie of mine ever gonna come home Old flames burn bright and Dusty keeping my girl gone Don't know what to do Helpless feeling sad She knows that she's the only True good friend I've had Old flames burn bright and Dusty keeping my girl gone She's had her fun now I wonder if she's ever gonna come home. I can't change the locks Can't kill the man can't go desert her though I've tried the best I can I'm starting to wonder if that poor lassie of mine ever gonna come home Old flames burn bright and Dusty keeping my girl gone Don't know what to do Helpless feeling sad She knows that she's the only True good friend I've had Old flames burn bright and Dusty keeping my girl gone She's had her fun now I wonder if she's ever gonna come home.

Rat Creek Blues Lord crawled me up around Rat Creek with a hollow stomach flu x2 If you wake up dead one morning then you must've done what I do. Drink that gravy from that old Rat Creek Eat that sugar from the mines Smoke from that old black train engine heading down that black creek line you get a dollar worth in pennies save for medicine sometime. Don't you down long on the rat creek pastor tell you what I know x2 make a lot selling your soul when that Rat Creek overflow. Lord crawled me up around Rat Creek with a hollow stomach flu x2 If you wake up dead one morning then you must've done what I do.

San Fredo Blues Big Bill the Texan got his start on the range shooting chickens with buckshot folks say he never changed he pulled out of San Fredo with a stolen Mack picked up three lady hoodlums and he never looked back. Friday they hit the border and found a city where they could hang spent a couple grand in a casino where hillbillies sang Sara and Jane went hunting for a couple tills to rob Bill and Velvet spent their last two dimes looking for a job Bill's Mack truck was empty and his stomach grumbled hard he sent Velvet conning bogus checks and debit cards soon they had 600 so they bought a lot of blow Sarah and Jane hit the hotel late with another grand for dope. (chorus) Sold the pot all week to put gas in the big Mack but Bill couldn't climb into his truck his lungs were full of crack. The girls went out hustling along Ellice street all night figured they'd stay in town another month 'cause this town was alright they never heard a siren from an undercover shout they must've made 10 grand just messing about Big Bill the Texan well he loved his brand new town he didn't have to pay off anyone he was safe and sound. Walking Around This Scene For Such A Long Time I've been walking down in this scene for such a long time I don't know if I'm wasting it all if I been blind I want a better life than being alone in this city I've been walking down in this scene for such a long time I'm never going back to the county too late for the farm I've seen it all and it's done me some harm Guess it's on to New York from here I'm gonna climb the mountain of my big career I've been walking down in this scene for such a long time Give me a reason to stay no kids or girls Give me a reason to stop me from taking over this whole world No more wicked women of my dreams ruining my plans no more sick old friend borrow money rattle pans I want to leave this city and hang out with attorneys and gentlemen It's been a long time coming and I'm never going back again I've been walking down in this scene for such a long time I don't know if I'm wasting it all if I been blind If you got nothing to give and you're giving a little you're giving it all you got I've been walking down in this scene for such a long time for such a long time for such a long time for such a long time for such a long time for such a long time for such a long time for such a long time
