Dawning Of A New Day (Frechette/Elizabeth) Tired of drifting in this crazy dream my two feet running low on gasoline. Everywhere I'm going now I'm trying to set the scene for the dawning of a new day. Finally deciding to make the change I got this head full of rhythm and this fog in my brain Listen sweet sister I'm about to catch a train to the dawning of a new day. (Chorus) As long as I remember the sun's been down I can't find the truth in the truth I found. I'm sailing out the river and the stars are about to drown into the dawning of a new day. Take this train along with me. Can't stay here Gotta get free. Say goodbye to the gray machine chained to the crown of the sinister queen. We board the train together and the sun is rising high. We're laughing and dancing as the world is going by. The sky is on fire and we're basking in the rays of the dawning of a new day. (Chorus)

The King Of Spades There is a wild old gambler who just turned 85 he loves his tango dancing martinis keep him alive and he leaves you with a melody he sang back in the war of the lovely little Linda, the girl who kept him sore. (Chorus) "Aller ou? Aller la! Voulez vous couchez avec moi, ce soir? Aller out? Aller la!" "I am the king of spades, dear maid, and you can call me sire!" He regales you with a tale of how he led the brigade and pillaged every village with his trusty king of spades and when he left the army the main tale he would tell was of a lovely little Linda, a girl we all know well. (chorus) When he came back from Normandy he searched for years in vain for the lovely little Linda who crowned him King Of Spades. For 55 years he lived with his staid darling wife and when she died he could finally tell the best lie of his life. (chorus)

Little Old Rock N' Roll I've got a world to change. Don't want to leave you high and dry. Never want to let you go, babe. Never want to say goodbye. But days come and go. Life turns us around, you know? Things change every single day. I let it all go and I say. (Chorus) "I need to make a lot of money to buy some more happiness, baby. They say that it can't happen, but I know at least it would save me from having to tell you I've got nothing to give - just this little old heart and soul. From having to tell you I've got nothing to give - just this little old rock and roll to make you whole. I can't go to movies I can't pay no rent I look at life like it is heaven sent. Still I wish there were more things I could do to make this world a better place for you. But days come and go. Life turns us around, you know? Things change every single day. I let it all go and I say. (chorus) Wise man tells potions and spells are all that love needs to get by but a little bit of fun under that five star sun would make everything go right. (chorus)
4.
I Should Know By Now (chorus) I learned a lesson long ago I learned a lesson long ago I should know I should know I should know by now. I could have made a mint or two but I stuck true to what I do I should know by now. I see the Lord's my guiding light I won't be no God, but at least I'm right I should know by now. I just love to play guitar I don't have to be no star I should know by now. I don't want a million women emotion ocean I ain't swimming. I should know by now. (chorus) I can't be a millionaire I'm happy that I got my share I should know by now. I'm spreading smiles, not mean goodbyes I'm saddest when a friendship dies. I should know by now. I'm getting good at sharing my views knowing nobody's been in my shoes I should know by now. False beauty hurts, true beauty lurks go ahead and treat me like dirt. I should know by now. (chorus) Sugar tastes mighty sweet if you want to rot your teeth I should know by now. I sing from the heart, you know? It's really me you get to know I should know by now. If you want a real good friend I'll walk with you until the end I should know by now. Share with me I'll share with you You could be my best friend too I should know by now. (chorus)
5.
Dirty Lies and Broken Promises (chorus) This is where it ends! This is where it ends! I'm tired of dirty lies and broken promises! This is where it ends! I should have followed all my dreams. They would have led me oh so far away. To the place where good love hides because you won't find it by your side with the cold hearts that are standing in your way. (chorus) I'm sorry son, you ain't having a good time. Gospel piano sure feels blue as me. Nothing is gonna stop this world from changing Like the shoreline all around the calm old sea. (chorus)
6.
New York City Sundance It's a New York City sundance. I was breathing all the air. It's about time I got the world out of my hair. The Gods they must be crazy because I've been sending it to the sun. This feeling that I'd hoped someday to become someone. (chorus) But you can call me friend buddy it better feel that way. I'm young inside and I'm living no lies loving something with my faith. My peace is all that I have. I'm steering clear of the dark. I was watching the wheels on fire while I lit my spark. Everywhere I was hungry and everywhere I was free. I was inside paying homage to the insider in me. (chorus) I saw this whole world dying as I watched that sundance crying on the field. It's a New York City sundance. It's a New York City morning. It's a New York City sundance. Watch the wheels slowing down. (chorus)

Make Me Come Alive I've got my hands on my destiny She's the one who heats my every chill. I've got a feeling deep inside me she's always gonna be my thrill. I've been running around the world just to find the time To come home to find the girl who's been on my mind to be there with her everywhere make me feel so good inside (chorus) Make me come alive. make me come alive and make me come alive. I've got to wait a little longer. Seems the day is slow and cold and sad. The sun don't shine without her but there ain't no way I'm feeling bad. She's been in my life each night telling me what she sees. Everything she wants to love has to do with me. Everything she wants to know she wants just to help me to dream. (chorus) There ain't no doubt to slow me down. She's my girl, no stopping now. It's strange but there ain't no games. Suddenly I lost the sound of breaking hearts I'm heaven bound again. I've got my hands on my destiny She's the one who heats my every chill. I've got a feeling deep inside me she's always gonna be my thrill. I've been running around the world just to find the time To come home to find the girl who's been on my mind to be there with her everywhere make me feel so good inside (chorus)
9.
Well My Old Friend Well my old friend what made you fall? Was it heartbreak in the springtime or just living with right or wrong? Well my old friend you could have seen another sun rise with a few of us fellow dreamers before you wrote your last goodbye. (chorus) We rode along these dark old streets seems the neighbours knew us well. Singing in the drunken morning tradition guitars ringing like the sacred bells. We drove that old highway once back down to my hometown. With all these years I have left to be living I ain't ever gonna live you down. I ain't ever gonna live you down. Life ain't always easy seems there's always something wrong. Whether the money is rolling in or your last cold dollar is gone. There's always birds singing in the brand new day whether or not that sun is shining or if there's hell to pay. (chorus) I made you a promise to see you again. The last time I saw you and yes we were still friends. I can't be much of a friend to this cold and lonesome urn. So I'll be seeing my good buddy Peter when the Lord gives me my turn. (chorus)

Hurricane Heart She likes dusty stars and sweet hellos I like hearing music I don't know. She likes golden sunsets, soft embrace. I like having new light on my face. She likes talking poetry and life. I like cutting bullshit with my knife. She likes back massages, shiny crowns. I like how it feels when we get down. She likes murder, mystery, theatre, plays. I like walking around on rainy days. She likes sweetened tea and apple pie. I like wondering how I'm gonna die. She likes money and talking with her friends. I like when all the chatterboxing ends. She likes to think I love her when she smiles. I like driving miles and miles and miles. (If you've got a hurricane heart try to see new light on your face and give music to the world. Keep your eye on the new life. Look up and ahead. Never give into the ghosts that hold you down with chains of guilt and disappointment. She likes talking poetry and life. I like cutting bullshit with my knife. She likes back massages, shiny crowns. I like how it feels when we get down. She likes dusty stars and sweet hellos I like hearing music I don't know.

Peace Of Mind. I strained to hear the quiet man as he swept away his plans and destinations. He couldn't take it anymore. Well, he told me, "Son, you understand, that a man can't have a tree shield planted gardens." He couldn't take it no more. (chorus) He said, "Life ain't what you had. It's only what you've got and what you believed in. Life ain't what you had. It's only what you've got and what you believed in and peace of mind. Peace of mind. He said he'd thought of letting go because row by row his harvest it was dying. He couldn't take it no more. He lost the crop, the man grew thin, the rain came back and made him smile again. (chorus)

Thank you: I'd like to thank my good friend Neil Fitzpatrick for spurring me on to record this collection. He sent me a thought out email of songs of mine he'd wished I'd recorded for many years. Turns out I had some time and was able to record the whole album and even put the songs in the order he suggested! If this album takes off and is a big success I definitely thank Neil!
