Fire Hydrant Blues Well my fire hydrant days ain't over because I got a new dog named Rover and because I got a new dog named Rover I've got those old fire hydrant blues I thought my pet days were numbered when my old pet boxer died but as a gift my mom sent Rover with a "beware of the dog" sign (Chorus) I took him to the vet and they said he was a healthy dog and they gave him dog tag numbers just in case he might get lost (Chorus) Well I put Rover in the tub and I washed him nice and clean and when I walked him he went rolling all along the old ravine (Chorus) My mama called me up and she asked "how do you do?" and I said since I got Rover I got those old fire hydrant blues (Chorus x2)

Too Late Now 03:10
Too Late Now Well I've only started to think just now maybe we've been around here for much too long So those people want to be on the good side I think they'd rather be on the side that won (Chorus) But it's too late now so we might as well press on it's too late now so we all should just press on Some people are burdened with hopelessness and are gambling for money that they've never had before and nothing is gonna stop them gambling until they've had their share of all that's yours (Chorus) We can't stop time we can only watch it pass beneath our feet as we travel on a journey to the center of the storm Well I've only started to think just now maybe we've been around here for much too long So those people want to be on the good side I think they'd rather be on the side that won (Chorusx2)
3.
This Ain't No Way To Say Goodbye (Chorus) This ain't no way to say goodbye stopping on the road one day and saying, "ah man I'll miss ya", this ain't no way to say goodbye, sayin', "I'm sorry maybe someday I'll try to visit" My cousin Ed's a friendly man real good guy to talk to never makes you suffer but after that tangible chat he'll probably sneak away a dirty laundry collector (Chorus) Thomas is a vagabond buys the friends big gifts he's a big money spender but then when the times get tough just before he splits he turns into a beggar (Chorus)
4.
Tears Of Laughter Our shadows will meet in the lonely moonlight down the highway river trail around midnight let the evening take a toll on our eyes let the summer wind carry our laughter (Chorus) Tears of laughter tears of joy will surrender from our eyes and time will dry the tears and leave the past behind Let's sing the words of writers from the lonesome seaside with runaway kisses let us find a place to hide from the moor, and the sailors with their shipwrecked smiles let the summer wind carry our laughter (Chorus) Our shadows will dance in the near dawn moonlight down the highway river trail around midnight let the evening take a toll on our eyes reflecting the winds carrying our laughter (Chorus)
5.
Song For An Addict Are you tired of the one nighters? and the messed up stood up folks? the dangerous deeds of addressing the night and facing a future alone? you call yourself a hero to all the eyes of the young but I bet that nearly anyone would want your mind instead of your soul. There is quite a difference between what you've lost and what you've won and there's quite a difference between what is past and what's to come you say I let you down, man but you fell in your trap and the ones who came before you are now living in their pasts. I listened to your story about how you'd beat the train but when I saw you last night I knew you hadn't come a long way You say I let you down, man but you fell in your own trap the search for survivors has begun we gotta try to bring you back.
6.
Fantasies 03:24
Fantasies How many fantasies are in fairy tales when you can't go on? How much advice can a person give when someone's talent hits the ground? (Chorus) You can count on me everything you see is just a fairy tale so look around.. safe and sound. Everybody has a certain gift they express in a certain way yours may mean nothing but some may sit and love your talent anyway I know you You're fine where you are Life wouldn't be pleasant without you I love you for who you are. How much love can somebody give and get no loving in return? Is it right for the man who lives who's never had a penny earned? (Chorus x2)
7.
Any Place In My Heart You're There (Chorus) Any place in my heart you're there Standing around my body and soul Can't wait to see you again someday My music she comes and goes. Any place in my heart you're there Standing around my body and soul Can't wait to see you again someday My music she comes and goes. Took me sometime to get back on track the never ending street even has a dead end I've been pressured for time to get down that road somehow You came along when my hopes were down Dead on my feet I couldn't listen to the law you taught me how to face the future fearlessly From time to time to time again I had to hide my thoughts from things I scared myself laughing for no reason Endless days and sunlit rays would plague me when you'd come to stay then darkness came and persuaded you to go (Chorus) When I was young and 25 something happened to my sense of time I ended up showing a love for living I had to keep our dreams alive but then I started giving up on life for something well I knew it wouldn't be worth taking From time to time to time again I had to hide my thoughts from things I scared myself laughing for no reason Endless days and sunlit rays would plague me when you'd come to stay then darkness came and persuaded you to go (Chorus)
8.
Maybe Without You The winter grows over the spring the wounds are frozen and never sting the streets are on fire in my dreams the falcons of fear are lost and confused the abandoned hearts have been refused everyone's searching in my dreams (Chorus) Looks like we're losing in a difficult war looks like we're losing in our very own war without you I'm tired of fighting maybe without you I'm tired of fighting the war The dungeons of fortune are locked and concealed I am more precious than what you can steal but everything's stolen in my dreams the guard is poisoned the drawbridge is down I have no will to be hanging around the words I weep may still hold true (Chorus)
9.
Ode To Her (And Then We Dance Across The Floor) Your love is like the river that flows through my heart your love is like the flower whose petals never part your love is like the happiness a dream come true can bring (Chorus) and then we dance across the floor and then we start to sing and then we dance across the floor and then we start to sing Your face is like the big old sun that shines when clouds are gone your eyes are like oblivion and in them I can drown your love is like some mountain that will not ever shrink (Chorus) You hair is like the rest of you it's bright and it shines your lips speak city languages much too hard to define Love is like a castle equipped with Queen and King (Chorus)
10.
The Dust In The Wind I saw you standing outside of the gates and sorry that I could not let you in You started to cry and I started to laugh tears were a flying like the dust in the wind As others gathered around the lady at the gate they gaze through the bars to see what made her cry they all turn their heads and I laughed and they wept why do they cry? I do wonder why? the tears were flying like the dust in the wind They act without shame as if life's just a game and everyone gets their chance to choose any man and if no one complains they'll all play the same game and they'll all either win or lose in the end Like ragged old crowns they wear a big frown because they were destined to live and destined to die my dreams have been born not thrown out the door and that is just why I laugh and they cry and that is just way I live and they die tears were a flying like the dust in the wind.
11.
Second Hand Love I'm trying to stop now taking the right leaving the wrong I'm getting a new start a second time shot at second hand love facing the facts now reminds me of a dream reminds me of a memory and fighting for her love ain't half as good as I thought that it would be yeah yeah yeah got my mind made up I been wishing on your star too long Someone is knocking on my door of life to sell me his shoes but I'm tired of walking roads are many and places are so few I can't say I ask much but what I can use is some second hand love get someone to send me a piece of your passion for a place inside my heart oh yeah yeah yeah got my mind made up I've been wishing on your star too long. I've got my mind made up I've been wishing on your star too long. I've got my mind made up I've been wishing on your star too long. I've got my mind made up I've been wishing on your star too long. I've got my mind made up I've been wishing on your star too long. I've got my mind made up I've been wishing on your star too long.

about

This album is the 4th collection of songs written mostly on my Jasmine 12 string guitar as a young kid dreaming in Pinawa, Manitoba, which I still have and use on these recordings. This started in 2016 when my old 12 string was brought back to life by Daryl Perry, a world renowned luthier based Winnipeg who did the original left handed conversion on this same guitar in summer 1991. The guitar still plays well enough all these years later and I still write songs on her and play her often!
