Goodbye Time 02:48
I ain't gonna cry my side of the story Ain't nobody's business if I do True love ain't on my mind It turns into doing time and time ain't nothing on my side Ain't no memories here to haunt me Why do things happen this way? True love ain't how she kissed me Ain't nobody gonna miss me Even though I'm sure that's what they'll say (Chorus) And it's goodbye time It's goodbye time Because it's time we say goodbye and it's goodbye time it's goodbye time please don't forget you're on my mind I see my shadows seem to haunt me even though I'm climbing in the dark I just ain't done enough these times are getting tough and no one knows what's in my heart I used to walk the streets so certain there's nowhere to go now but apart when all the world moves on you'll see there ain't a bond that can bring you right back to the start.
2.
I can't stand to be in this skin I'm always on the losing end Just because you're so good don't mean you make me bad Don't have to look too hard to find a friend I've got to find true love all over again Just because you're so bad it don't make me bad I won't tell my side of the story I'll let the whole world fold below me I won't fill in blank stares no more when I got no choice but to head for the door Well we're tired of being this way and this dance ain't called it a day Just because you're so good it don't make me bad Someday it's gonna come and it won't be over and done and there'll be more right away where that came from You're kind of love ain't enough if I'm stuck contemplating all this stuff Just because you're so good it don't make me bad Where are you gonna be when my boredom sets you free? Just because you're so good it don't make me bad I won't tell my side of the story I'll let the whole world fold below me I won't fill in blank stares no more when I got no choice but to head for the door Well we're tired of being this way and this dance ain't called it a day Just because you're so good it don't make me bad Just because you're so good it don't make me bad
3.
Give me a day when the waterfalls take me down and send me out to heal on the waters and all I'd need were a day to come back to life again Give me a day where the people that I meet make sense and don't just shoot the breeze and all I'd need were a day to come back to life again Making time between rain songs No hellos between so longs something deeper I'll find where I steer my life's highway Give me a day where lies the summit there and it's my choice to climb and all I'd need is the air if you'd please just give me a day I'd observe the lost and see something beside the cost maybe I'd see a way If they'd only give me a day Give me a day where the hearts of fire meet and dancers spin on the empty streets and I'll surely find my way if you'd only give me a day
4.
If sleep won't overtake me I'll just have to lay you down whisper come softly and turn this night around if the windows have stars and the dreams have skies will you sing along these lonesome melodies of these lover lullabies? The world won't leave us alone never a single day all I want is to take the poison and put this fate away but I know that it's oh so tempting like finding out who cries in a crowd of distant melodies in these lover lullabies You can shake me if you want to don't leave it all up to me sometimes togetherness can breathe fire in misery so I'll take you for now but I hope you realize there's bound to be some harmonies in these lover lullabies
5.
Ragtime Baby 03:01
(Chorus) Ragtime baby won't you sing for me Ragtime baby won't you sing for me I've been blue and busted out on bluegrass street Ragtime woman I'm cooked and solid gone Ragtime woman left me here to sing a song She's gotta hit me with progress hit me with a bill when I pull out my money she'll go straight for the kill (Chorus) I got 20 years on the kids you'll kiss for free I got open holes in the legs of my old blue jeans I can't go on living like this adding to the list everyday of fun I've missed (Chorus) She'll pull my lucky card and we'll hit the town there's lonely times whether or not you're settled down better to be sane better to be free don't need no tedious company (Chorus)
6.
I really don't mind flying lonesome where the soul will comfort me this is not saying I don't love you by needing to be free years we've cherished in this warm embrace 'til I know every freckle on your face now there's other things I need to see doesn't mean you won't still comfort me (Chorus) I really don't mind flying lonesome I miss finding my own days walking staring in the stars in the night fading into obscure pathways You don't seem to feel the same way about all the time we share I guess it's tough to tell the secrets to one whose soul you should lay bare It's no secret I will miss you as I'm stepping out for air I really don't mind flying lonesome with all these ages we do share (Chorus)
7.
True Friends 04:09
True friends know my side of the story true friends will call me and wish me well true friends hold me and bring me to glory and share in laughter and stories to tell I'll give my heart to the love that transforms me I'll lend my spirit to any path that I can take I'll stay true to loyalty that won't bore me or turn me into something my pride can not shake Someday I'll be free and nothing will paint me or taint me for being real I'm just another soul on the lost train why does it have to be such a big deal? I've got boots that I ain't used yet and jokes I ain't told now in years why do I wait for the imposition to forget the wasted days and unfallen tears? I was taken through fate to a life I no longer understand I'm just another soul on the lost train there's nothing stopping me from songs I've got planned True friends know my side of the story true friends know my side of the story
8.
Hiding out 'til I know where I belong finding mysteries buried in songs trying to find my way trying to find my way Give me reasons to be on this earth friends who understand the value of worth trying to find my way trying to find my way Yesterday was a movie I was stranded in a broken hotel surrounded by yours truly counting all the story lines I know too well There's nothing stopping me from destiny but maybe I'm my own worst enemy trying to find my way trying to find my way She'll catch up with me again someday 'til then I'm looking for someplace else to play trying to find my way trying to find my way Yesterday was a movie I was stranded in a broken hotel surrounded by yours truly counting all the story lines I know too well and trying to find my way
9.
Breaking the deep silence may be the only way leave the oppression behind us find a new way to play there's a world living so far apart keep on going until it breaks your heart away There's a river that will never be the same there's a gambler living under another name sometimes things are taken steps too far you keep on going until you break your heart in shame and the room feels much smaller now there's still places to run don't pretend to walk much taller now until all your talking has all been done forgiveness on the way Happy to find someone with whom I can relate without someone to trust feels like life is such a waste keep it rolling while you make a new start you'll never know how if you're circumstance is laced and the room feels much smaller now there's still places to run don't pretend to walk much taller now until all your talking has all been done forgiveness on the way forgiveness on the way forgiveness on the way forgiveness on the way
10.
There's rage in the headlines and dollars in the deadlines and I'm praying for the world can't fix a stranger unless we're dancing in the danger and I'm praying for the world (Chorus) We've come so far but we're only here now what isn't so clear now is why all this fear now? It's time to rearrange tradition for a change and I'm praying for the world You've got your thrill and I've got mine and I'm praying for the world your thrill kills and my thrill spills and I'm praying for the world (Chorus) New world order showing up at the border and I'm praying for the world we say our thing and see what joy that will bring and I'm praying for the world (Chorus)
11.
Sometimes I take a stroll down by the old redwood trees and I hear the most beautiful sound resounding in the breeze I gather up my courage to pull out my guitar and play do you mind if I join along and I can let the big girl play? I haven't had her for very long and to other eyes she's small but in matters of the heartstrings she ain't so small at all and the people when they see me they often wish me to sit and stay and take her from the case and say won't you let the big girl play? (Chorus) Let the big girl play let her strings sing hollow and sweet hear all the birds start singing along and the sweethearts shuffle their feet these days there's not enough music sometimes we lose our way so let me pull out my old guitar and let the big girl play When I am old and I am nearing my early grave I'll think back to times when I took a chance and was so brave and I asked that beautiful lady if I could join her song that day she looked at me and smiled and said won't you let the big girl play? (Chorus)
