Sweet Potato Man Here's a song about a sweet pototo man he's got a beercase for a suitcase and he travels 'round the land his papa was a millionaire and a good cook too. Sweet potato man grew his hair long grew a new guitar wrote down a song sang it on the corner like a poor old bum dedicated it to his old man and his mom he's determined to save the dolphins because they don't eat pototoes and they don't like farmers or yard weed sprayers or schoolkid garden thrashers Here's a song about a sweet potato man he's got a mortgage on his house and a tattoo on his hand he travels 'round the land in a chesterfield band his papa was a millionaire and a good cook too.

Bowling Me Over Smoking bread with a catfish jumping in my waterbed Cat can't dive on a sailor suit watch your head! Give me a teacup and I'll blow a fuse Jawbreaker coffee with a bucket full of blues Got an old raincoat that I wear as a shirt Got an old ladybug that I kill when I'm burnt The broken dice spinning The wooden spool rolling have a hair on a headache that keeps on (Chorus) - Bowling me over! Bowling me over! Nothing like colitis and a toothache. Killing time in a plasticine kingdom watching chicks pick on the nerds and the suicide selfish pricks plug my nose when my mind goes blank peanut butter on the chalkboard sexual hanky pank beard on the face of an old grandmother trying to snuggle up to me while I'm running for cover The broken dice spinning The wooden spool rolling have a hair on a headache that keeps on (Chorus) - Bowling me over! Bowling me over! Nothing like colitis and a toothache. (Got a hunger pang for a halibut)

Good Kind Man He was a good kind man he always gave a smile I remember him being around I haven't seen him for a while I asked his mom and papa where the good kind man did go? Their tired faces smiling "we put him in a home". He worked at the co-op loading food onto a truck. Gave the boss no trouble Just made his buck. he had few friends wasn't a social man But I talked to him when I saw he was a good kind man. I found out through a friend he'd done some strange things. He dressed up like a woman and hung his dog on a string. But I laughed and said, "please, he's a good kind man and until he hurts me I'll be as pleasant as I can."

Hicksville 03:16
Hicksville (chorus) Nobody prays for pain Nobody prays for pain and the sun never shines in Hicksville and nobody braves the back lanes. My mother got in a fight when a gentleman gave her the eye his girlfriend got up and walked across the floor and told my ol' mom to step outside. (chorus) Grandpa took a fall on his journey to the Saturday mall the neighbourhood bullies stood around and laughed stole his wallet and kicked dust in his mouth. (chorus) My younger brother joined a gang just because he was allowed in a gang after he lit the neighbourhood church on fire and stole a hundred dollars from the bank. (chorus)

Freeze Out 03:05
Freeze Out After all this freeze out I can see my feet can't carry me too far if I can't see what made you bleed I guess I really must have let down my guard ain't it strange but I exchanged the worst for first and the best for last wound up coming through this circus for a reason and now I'm buried in the past She told me once she loved me and I tried to love her madly in return. For many years nothing changed she kept with me even when I was burnt then one day she told me she'd found her place somewhere down the line Took a room alone downtown and now I seem to have nothing but time. After all this freeze out I wonder where she's gonna be tomorrow will she be standing in the rain wondering where did all the sunny days go Will she ever tell her lovers that she once knew somebody by my name? Will she ever know that someone's always waiting for someone who never came?

When You Were Mine When you were mine you said you wished I was there all the time with you baby you used to make me glad to show my face around before you let me down I felt higher When you were mine nothing stopped me from smiling at all nothing stopped me from laughing right out loud before you let me down I felt higher You were mine and I'm glad you saw my world in a moment before it all slipped away now I'm alone and my world is nothing and nothing means nothing to me. can't you see? When you were mine I never came closer to something good before same kind of thing that makes you beg for more before you closed the door I felt open. Time goes by and moments die but time didn't wait for me Ain't it hard? but it's in the cards you didn't wait for me you didn't wake with me You were mine and I'm glad you saw my world In a moment before it all slipped away Now I'm alone and my world is nothing and nothing means nothing to me. When you were mine When you were mine When you were mine you were mine.

Sing It Again When I call up my monster to sing a song with me we sing melodies in unison he's a master reaching "C" oh sing it again The crowd displays their goodness when there's nothing better to do they listen to me and my monster sing a lonesome set of blues oh sing it again We sing songs about the homeless and some to save the trees we've got a high rise full of paper and people out on the street oh sing it again When I call up my monster to sing a song with me we sing melodies in unison he's a master reaching "C" oh sing it again oh sing it again

Rainy River Blues (chorus) I'm wanna go to the river to get away get away I gotta go to the river to get away If you want to come along it's for a good time Rain man's coming and the sky is clouding and the place is gonna be rocking tonight (chorus) Smoking tiny cigarettes ain't too cold to laugh sun is long gone but but I can still find my way back. Rainy River ain't nothing but a good time. (chorus)

Long Sleeved Shirt I was getting bored with the world one day So I said "I'm gonna go on a shopping spree" I went to the dress-up shop picked me up a brand new top it was a long sleeved shirt just an ugly old thing anyone would wear It was black and red and green and orange too bad nothing rhymes with orange I slipped the shirt on and walked out on the street but the shirt hung right down under my feet I looked like a multi-color bowling pin I fell down I went back in the dress up store asked the clerk for a shirt that don't hang to the floor he pointed to the tag on the collar of the neck and said "pure cotton - what the heck! just wash it a couple times! you'll see it'll shrink!" So I tripped on down to the laundromat threw in a few loonies and left it at that after some time I took a peek to see shirt looked pretty damn good to me so I tried it on and it hung to my navel belly button I wore it all the time and no one seemed to care as much for my shirt as for my belly button hair pretty soon things weren't looking so bad I'd started up my own little belly button fad no one wears long shirts anymore not unless you're the old fashioned kind hide the belly button.

Oh? 03:24
Oh? When you got out from the prison of your mind I saw you standing in the places you would find Up on cripple creek you'd send me laugh my cares away I'd spend my summers there until the sun would fade (Chorus) Oh Oh Girl it was too hard to paint you in the nude your face was scowling and you looked so awful rude when the world was dying in the Burger King fads you ran your red lights and you told me you were mad (Chorusx2) Circumstances go only so far you kiss your orphans and you tie them in the yard You mix your poison into milk and cookie glass your husband loves you so he follows in your tracks. (Chorus x2)

Autumn Eulogy Snow wept from sky on Wednesday morning Doll eyed, beautiful children skipped for schools on icy bikes and slippery shoes sniffling frozen wind shuffling through disaster zone streets astonished by the seasons going by autumn eulogy watch the spinning wheels- cars frolicking I can walk faster than that pulling their 360's no fear of accident mornings pass into afternoons Wednesday snowing subsides wind falls into tunnels and whistles no more sun kisses sky pierced blue hot bright light winter days melt the snow autumn eulogy night falls so fast ice forms on dying streets descending darkness stars clear night breath visible in moonlight cuddle for warmth astonished by the seasons going by autumn eulogy

Brand New Start I'm gonna make the best of this brand new start I just want a sunny day to dry my eyes and I'll say "this is the way things are now nothing will stand in my way forgive and forget the way love left me here" I'm gonna pick up the pieces of my broken heart broken promise and a broken dream too and you can come into my life and help me through when things just don't seem right this is the way I want it nothing will stand in my way I will live on since the day love left me here. Take the darkest part of my heart and make it shine make me smile again take it fast or take it slow just as long as I'm not alone oh not alone. and if you step into my life nothing will stand in our way I will forget the day love left me here. I'm gonna make the best of this brand new start I'm gonna make the best of this brand new start

The Disappearing Floor Tonight the drifters drift and dance between the bones of circumstance their trance-like stance of vague romance brings sweet memories to these days we run through day and night like this we jump and fall we hit and miss while the ravaged bandits waltz and kiss to the sounds of yesteryear through the night police took flight chasing mortal men of might who fled from crime scenes brave and white like ghosts who owned the world the smell of burning filled the air buildings wrapped in red hot glare the lonely warehouse lost its wares and the big old shack burned down (Chorus) Might as well kiss the sky when the day is sunny might as well get out and live a little more these days are all we've got no matter if we're found or if we're lost on the disappearing floor. The heroes of the past are gone we make new memories sing new songs of dew-lit mornings where innocence is lost to all but children now and I wish to see one day when unborn poison kills our fates and the ship of time is delayed from haste to see us to tomorrow (Chorus)

Beautiful Agnes Beautiful Agnes you make me sad to leave i don't need the music as long as you're near me I don't need the sun and night my life would turn out fine If I wasn't here waving another long goodbye Beautiful Agnes your strength is in your song no one feels estranged to you you always get along you look lonely in your precious dress walking 'neath the night if I wasn't here waving another long goodbye Ooh this time I'll find my way but I'll never forget you every smiling face reminds me of you. Beautiful Agnes i'm feeling so confused when I'm bleeding from my spirit I can't see the wounds but I've gone from you so many times It makes me wonder why I'm crying here and waving another long goodbye?
