lyrics

Sultans Of This World

I walk the streets in total confusion
where was my mind when yesterday
I was convinced it was an intrusion
of my soul held up for ransom
Everybody laughed out loud
and they told me it doesn't matter
for we are just the sultans of this world

We showed ourselves to be so strong
but often I questioned our fate
Would we be able to hold out long
when the blaze does come our way?
And the blaze will hunt us down
and hatefully steal our crown
for we are just the sultans of this world

And I know that I chose to be slow
during this day of confusion
I might as well get up and go
outside and watch the sun
but the blaze may hurt my eyes
for that is the reason I'll cry
when I recall that I'm a sultan of this world.
