lyrics

Refugees

Some days we're miles from the weather
Miles from the world we know
Some days we can't walk together
And the blood from the levee flows
Some days we live through the sanctions
Nights where life can't go on
in the cold mist God speaks before us
And through His light we may find a song

Jezebel died in my arms
Solstice passed with great tears
A bomb went off in the clearing
Exploded out lives into fear
Somehow we painted pictures
Picked flowers and songs with our hands
Decorated mother's tombstone
So that we may find her again

The refugees deserted misfortune
Headed down the road for some more
We prayed although God wouldn't heed us
Though it set fire to the unknown
Deep down inside we lay dreaming
Of things that were destined to stay
We lit cigarettes from the gravel
While the brush fires called out for aid

Dan Frechette California

Bandcamp generously sends 85% of your support directly toward my humble living expenses.

This is the only place you will find all of my albums. I have most of them on YouTube Music (Topic Channel) and Spotify now as well. However, music is not free to produce and neither is rent and groceries.

For best audio results, download music at minimum 320 MP3. WAV is best. Thanks 🙏
